Preparing to Receive TWO Sacraments
Students participating in this Sacramental preparation class are actually preparing to recieve TWO sacraments for their first time: Reconciliation & Eucharist.

Reconciliation
Most people recognize the Sacrament of Reconciliation by the action, or the term Confession. While preparing to experience this beautiful gift of God's love and forgiveness, children also learn to extend forgiveness others.

Eucharist
"Every time we receive the Eucharist, we repeat that desire with our “Amen!”, which means “Yes! I believe!” We are saying we believe in Jesus Christ and that he is truly present in front of us."

Diocesan Sacrament Guidelinesfor First Reconciliation/First Communion

- The child is expected to have participated in parish faith formation or Catholic school religious education classes before he/she begins the direct preparation for the Sacrament of Penance and the Sacrament of Eucharist.
- The child is expected to have been previously involved in the liturgical life of the parish faith community by regular attendance at Sunday Eucharist with his/her parents/guardians.
